Why do airlines use jets not prop planes?
Why do airlines use jets not prop planes?
Jets are better and can fly much faster and higher and are mor reliable.
Cuz jets are faster
There are still the prop planes in some airlines.
They are much faster and can be made much larger to carry more people.
Efficiency.
Nobody makes large prop planes anymore
Because jet engines are more efficient at the high altitudes where most airliners fly.
They are much more powerful.
Do you like flying slow, Jimmy?
Prop lanes are still in use for a lot of short distance/commuter hops but jets are larger and fly faster.
- Why don't airports use steam catapults and transverse arrestor cables, like they do on aircraft carriers, for extra short take-off & landing? 1. Airports could be pretty tiny with runways no longer than a football field 2. Takeoff and landing (takeoff especially) would be *much* more exciting 3. Airlines could charge people more money because the experience would be much more fun 4. It would save a lot of fuel with much less taxiing around the airfield, and much less fuel used during the takeoff phase
- Do passenger air jets fly over the North Pole often on their way to other side of world (Ex. China) from North America? Was watching a documentary where someone left Canada on a passenger jet and they showed the flight going over the north pole to China would it not be kind of dangerous if they had to land and had to get out at the North pole? the cold air pressure is not too much for passengers inside?
- If companies stopped making supersonic planes like the concorde because it was too noisy expensive why are they bringing them back? Companies like nasa lockheed martin are working on supersonic air travel And colorado company boom is developing a 55 seater plane So if companies are working on supersonic travel does that mean airlines will have to cancel their boeing 787 dreamliner or airbus A350 orders or any widebody orders due to supersonic travel
- Why are crying infants allowed on planes? I love flying but I absolutely HATE when I have to be seated near someone with their infant who won't shut up. The worst part is the parent does nothing at all to soothe the kid! Read him/her a story, rock to sleep, or put a pacifier in its mouth. People like that are so inconsiderate. I feel airlines should better policies about this. This is so disturbing to the other 100+ people who wanna get some sleep for their long flight! Anyone agree?
