Does a blanket count as a personal item on Delta airlines?

I have a flight at midnight and want to bring a blanket with me on the flight since itll be 9 hours, but the blanket doesn't fit in my personal bag? Could i just bring it with me not in a bag? Specifically for delta.

Yes. Anything you carry is an individual item. Buy a bigger bag or bring a smaller blanket or just use your coat as a blanket

They will give you a blanket and a pillow. Yes, you can bring one with you. Many people bring those neck pillows- separate from their carry on bags or hooked onto their bag. If I were you, I'd put the blanket in a plastic bag and strap it or tie it only my carry on.

On a long flight such as yours, blankets will be provided, you can carry your own, but why burden yourself with extra luggage.

It should be fine. They don't count things like coats and umbrellas as part of your personal item allowance, and I imagine a blanket would be the same.
