American Airlines vs Delta vs United Airlines?
I'm traveling from New Orleans to Miami. I'm using an app called trip adiviser and Skyscanner to get cheap tickets and would like to know which out of the three airlines are a better choice. If anyone who reads this has experienced anything life threatening or traumatizing on while using one of these airlines please share! Is Southwest Airlines a better choice than the three listed above?
I usually fly UA. Never had bad experiences with them. I've flown AA a couple times, also don't recall bad experiences. I've never flown Delta.
They're all the same, it's about price. The most important thing is they get you there safely
I fly all three on a regular basis, and they are really about the same on all of the things that matter. I've had minor issues with all three, and they were handled appropriately by the airline. Their safety records are all comparable, and good.
Southwest is different in several ways. They do tend to have cheaper fares. They also still allow 2 free checked bags, as well as 2 free carry-on bags. However, they do not provide seating assignments. You get a boarding position based on when you check in for your flight; you board the plane in order of boarding position, and choose any available seat. So the earlier you check in, the better selection of seats you have. I like traveling on Southwest - I find them particularly friendly and accommodating.
There's not really any difference among US based airlines. All squeeze the passengers in like sardines. But all have excellent safety records- there hasn't been a crash of any of their planes since 9/11. Book that one that has the cheapest fare or the best schedule for you.
On Delta, you're almost certainly going to have to change planes in Atlanta.
Be sure to read the fare terms carefully. All of those airlines sell basic fares which do not include carry on, no seat selection and of course can't be changed or refunded.
So it's really whichever is cheapest or departs or arrives at a time you like.
American is the only one that offers nonstop.otherwise, you'll have to transfer somewhere
We're frequent flyers on UA and like them just fine. They are Star Alliance with Lufthansa, too, which is nice sometimes. And of course they fly nonstop, depending on where you are going.
American, United and Delta have pretty similar levels of service. I would go with the airline that has the cheapest flight and/or most convenient flight time.
The good thing about Southwest is that you are allowed up to 2 checked bags to fly for free. However there's no assigned seating.
There really isn't much of a difference between them, especially when you are talking about that short of a flight.
Don't forget Southwest, which won't show up on any other ticket sites. You have to buy on their website. You;ll also have to fly to Ft Lauderdale.
Once you pick a flight, buy the ticket on the airline's website, not a third party site. The ticket prices are the same. The only thing those third party sites might get you is a good package deal for a hotel and/or rental car (which the airlines can also do sometimes).
Like eatbabyseals said, read the fine print. All three of those airlines have now introduced a basic economy fare that severely restricts your ability to bring a carry-on or pick your seat.
Your talking about flying like an hour, maybe 2 at the most. I never really consider what airline I'm flying or where I'm sitting when the flight is that short. I typically fly United or Delta when possible only because I have a lot of miles with both, so I tend to get cheaper upgrades, but really that short of a flight just take what's cheapest
United, yuck. I have had better flights with AA and Delta.
- What are United Airlines' rules regarding phone power banks? I'm taking a trip soon and I can't find anything on their website on whether or not they're allowed. I want to carry one in my personal bag.
- Why are American Low Cost airlines very good compared to European Low cost airlines? Hi. Ryanair and Easy jet suck in Europe. I was so impressed by JetBlue and South West in the US. They were just like legacy major airlines
- Can I have a companion for premier access United Airlines? I'm 17 and I bought a first class ticket which included many privileges, one of them being premier access. I know for boarding I probably can't, but for security lane would it be okay? I'm traveling with my mom who decided to stick to regular economy so I don't want to be separated from her for a long time and I really don't want to let my privileges go to waste- I did spend a lot on it.
- I did an interview for Delta airlines and in the video interview I accidentally said American Airlines? Has anyone else had this problem? I caught it very quickly and said delta immediately and kept saying delta in the other answers. Do you think it can cost me the next step of the process?
