How do I get a boarding pass when I'm connecting on another airline?

I'm flying from Atlanta to New York-LaGuardia, and then to Syracuse, NY on the 26th. I'm flying on Frontier Airlines up to LGA, and then Delta to SYR. I know that if I was flying on the same airline for both flights that I could just print both my boarding passes at ATL, but since I'm switching airlines, how do I get my second one to fly to Syracuse? Do I have to get in line again at the ticket counter at LGA, or can I just have one printed off at the Delta gate?

If you're checking bags, you will have to go out of security and claim your bags and recheck it with Delta. Technically, if you don't have any checked bags, you can stay in the secured area. You can either print your delta ticket at home within 24 hours, download the delta app and load the ticket onto your phone or go to a customer service kiosk and print the ticket. However, there's a good chance you'll flag a security error when you board at the delta gate. Part of the security involves having your ticket scanned at the checkpoint so if you didn't go through security, it could flag you. But you can explain your situation and save your frontier ticket.

Boarding passes for all legs of the journey will be issued when you check in at Atlanta. Luggage is transferred to the second plane as soon as it it unloaded and the second plane begins loading cargo.

You should be able to print boarding passes for both flights at home, or use the Delta app on your phone. There are also Delta check-in desks at LGA and they may be able to print the boarding pass for you.

The answer from eatbabyseals ·is correct about checked luggage unless you somehow bought both flights on one ticket.
