Does American Airlines allow 2 suitcases and a personal bag?

I didn't notice in time, but my suit cases are quite small. Is there any chance american airlines will allow me to carry 2 suitcases?

Nobody allows 2 suitcases for free. You may have to pay for the first one. You can carry one small bag on, and a personal item. The rule is, you get one space in the overhead bin, and one under the seat in front of you. If you take two bags, they'll make you gatecheck the second one.

*EDIT* See COMMENTS. The first Checked Bag is not Free. I don't even think of the $70 fee as a cost anymore. Also, I think one of the major airlines doesn't charge a fee but all the others do.

You can take a purse, a carry on (small suitcase) and get one freebie luggage.

For example, i usually carry a laptop bag (or purse) and a backpack (or carry on) plus one large suitcase that is checked in. This costs nothing extra.

i only pay for the second checked bag ($70 with most airlines). Or i check my backpack at the gate if i don't feel like carrying it (no cost).

i don't know the measurements for a "carry on" but those can be pretty big…

Not as carry on. You can check two bags if you pay for them.

Allow them where? As carry-on luggage? Not a chance. One suitcase and one personal item is all the luggage you can have as carry-on. You can take a second suitcase but it will be as checked luggage.

Check on their website.

No, you are allowed to take on board ONE carry-on bag and ONE personal item. The carry-on bag must fit in the overhead comparment (dimensions allowed on AA are 22x14x9) and the personal item must fit under the seat in front of you.

No airline allows you to bring 3 bags on board, no matter how small they are. If you show up with 3 bags, they'll make you check one (and you'll have to pay for that).
