For connecting flights when switching airlines, what do you do when the carry on rules are different?
I'll be switching to Singapore airlines from United mid-trip. United airlines allows one luggage and one personal bag for carry on (economy class) meanwhile Singapore airlines only allows a luggage. What do I do in this situation? I'll be using united for my first two flights so do I go with their rules?
If you can fit your carry on into your luggage bag that would solve the problem.
Then you fly with just 1 carryon luggage.
You can't figure this out? You do what Singapore requires, unless you can somehow get rid of your personal item after you leave United's plane and before you board Singapore's plane.
This isn't difficult. You do what you need to do to get through all your flights to your destination. That means abiding by the stricter rules from the start. Good luck with the rest of your travels. You'll need it.
There's not magic space that opens up because part of your day has larger allotment.
The smallest size is what you take for ALL
You will pay extra when you try to board your last flight.
Who told you Singapore Airlines do not allow cabin bags?
i have traveled numerous times on Singapore Airlines
and i always take a carry on bag into the cabin like
everyone else
Your looking at it wrong. They do not care how many bags. But go by weight. There weight allowed is less than United. So you need go early for your ticket. So allow time between flights. Go to the ticket counter. Have your luggage weighed all of it. Get the over weight ticket. Have them put the big bag on your plane. Ask were to pa over weight usually at the end of the counter. Sometimes upstairs. Level 5. Pay the over weight. It goes by kilos. Go back to ticket counter. Give here the recite. Get your ticket & go to your gate. This is the normal way in Asia. You are allowed 1 carry on & 1 luggage. Also they charge for over size. Luggage.

- Is the 1 card which allows you to collect all airmiles from different airlines? UK? Very new to the whole airmiles points however I take a lot of journeys from England to New Zealand and wondered if I could collect the points and maybe spend it on first class which would be great. Is there one credit card that collects airmiles for every airline. Or do you have to collect air miles from separate airlines and spend them on the same airline?
- Do you prefer night flights or day flights? I prefer night flights. The view of all the city lights and cars passing by below is so relaxing and I love the way airports are all lit up at night.
