Delta pending charge?

Hi so I tried to book the ticket yesterday on my laptop in delta airline, and when I confirm to purchase, the error screen came up and said "Unable to process. We're sorry, we're unable to process your request. Please try again later."
Then I checked my bank account to check my balance and it charged me for the plane ticket!
I didn't get any confirmation code or anything like that.
So I called delta last night and they said something about pending the charge.
They said my money will be fall of in couple days
But, when I see my transaction record in my bank account, it shows that the money is given to delta airline.
I just don't understand this whole process of pending
I'm curious when I can get my money back? And whether or not I can trust delta.
I called them couple of times and first, they said it will take 72 hours. The second time they said within 24 hours… They keep changing their words and I don't know which one to believe.
I just want my money back As soon as possible!
So, my ultimate question is… How long does it take to get my money back? (when dies pending charge will be fall off?)

A pending charge hasn't been taken out of your account yet. You have your money.

BANKS can take 3 to 5 days to process the transaction. GET OVER IT.

If Delta has not given you a ticket then they have reversed the charge to your account. IT DOES NOT show as credit in your account a few seconds later.
DELTA AIRLINE does not dictate to the BANK how fast the bank processes their part of this.

The person you talk with is not the BANK. Just an Airline employee trying to assist you.

Complain to your BANK.

Was this thru some reseller or ticket agency - or DIRECTLY with Delta, on their own website? We use Delta exclusively and fly often, and NEVER EVER have had a problem, even when we had to cancel flights. We Wed always treated family.
