How long after flight lands can you pick up a puppy?

I'm picking up my new puppy from the airport and his flight (via delta cargo) arrives at 12:10. Is there a long waiting period after the flight lands before we can receive him? I can't seem to find a time frame anywhere.

Cargo comes out of the plane much the same way luggage does. It's best to be there when the flight is scheduled to arrive or very shortly thereafter, unless you have checked and found that the flight was delayed. If you are picking up a live animal, you want to get it home and out of the crate As soon as possible.

CALL the airline public relations desk and ASK THEM.

Cargo is removed at the same time as baggage, unless there's bulky items. Live animals are likely to be transported to the animal quarantine station, but check with delta cargo.

Pets shipped as cargo is available for pickup 2 hours after arrival for domestic and 4 hours for international.

I'm assuming your dog is sent by the seller.
My puppy arrived at the airline cargo area, puppy was delivered to the cargo about 1/2 hr after the plane landed.
Not to worry.

For Delta, they are generally available 2 hours after landing for Domestic flights, and 4 hours for International Flights. You can look at the link below and look under "Recovery Times"

But there are a few things to be aware of. While there shouldn't be any Quarantine issues, if there's that could delay this quite a bit.

Also, I'm hoping this is not your case but there are many scams involving Pets and transporting. Such as the person supposedly selling the animal gives you a "hard luck" story as to why they have to get rid of the pet. They will also start asking for various fees, such as Shipping, Crates, Medical Papers. Some even go as far as telling you they need to "pay off" some government official. The key here is that you need to pay them by things such as Western Union or "Pre-Paid" Debit/Gift cards. They will keep coming up with fees as long as you continue to pay them, but there's no pet and there never was. As I said I hope this is not your case, you just need to be aware.

There's no point in asking anyone except the effing AIRLINE.
