How to become an airline pilot? - 1

I'm An electrical Engineer who got into the wrong field and I did not realize that until later in life. I'm 26 and currently, I do not have any money to pay for the expensive pilot school.
I want to hear from Pilots only. What is the cheapest way to get into this career and eventually becoming an Airline pilot.
I live in Dubai but I don't mind moving anywhere in the world.
please guide me through the stages, ranks, and duration and everything in between.

Hijack a plane or ask for the power of the lizard peoples to come down and give you piloting abilities from the Lizard World! King lizard will look after you! Hiss brother!

There's no "cheap" way. Keep working as an EE and save your money to pay for flying lessons. Once you're broke but have your ratings, you will be ready to go to work as an instructor or regional airline pilot at starvation wages while you build hours for an airline job… And wonder why you ever quit engineering.

At least… Keep working as an EE while getting your Private Pilot certificate. Then fly a bit, see if you really like it, by which time you'll know enough about the industry to plan further.

Join the UAE Air Force and have them train you.

Well, as a student majoring in Commercial Aviation, I know from experience that there's absolutely no cheap alternative to becoming a pilot. It will cost around $100,000 to get all the certifications you will need to become a commercial pilot and to make somewhat good money (starting around $65,000 a year). Best bet is to do what I'm doing, pay out of pocket to get your PPL and a few other certifications (costing $30,000) and go to OCS and get contracted as an air force pilot.

One of my old high school friends became a pilot. He studied and got his private pilot license in high school and just kept working up to the next certification. He got a job at the local municipal airport doing general landscaping, cleaning, etc - it didn't pay much but he got a small employee discount on lessons and airplane rentals which helped.

He also would take friends up flying on the agreement they would pay for the rental. I went up with him where we rented a 4 seat airplane and he took 3 friends up. We split the rental/fuel cost 3 ways among the 3 of us that were along for the ride. We got to experience flying in a small aircraft and flew over each person's house. He got to add an hour of flight time to his records with no out-of-pocket cost.

Obviously you have to be careful about taking paying passengers up before you're certified for it, but if you're not charging a fare and its just a friend paying the rental fee you can get some flight hours that way.

Join the air force. Most commercial pilots are ex military.

By becoming an airplane pilot

Quite simply there's NO CHEAP WAY TO BECOME A PILOT!
You find $200,000 Or you do not get the training to be come a commercial pilot.

You could get a job as cabin crew but you will never become a pilot that way!
Do not think you can work through the ranks as there are no ranks!

  • Can I still become an airline pilot? So, I'm 5ft and I wear glasses, but my prescription is very low, as in +0.25 and +0.5. I was told to be a pilot you need to be 5ft 2 at least, and you need perfect vision. Is this true?
  • What do I really need to become a pilot and work for an airline? Really, all aviation programs are extremely complicated to understand. Do I need a CPL? A bachelors degree? How does one become a pilot and work for an airline?
  • How can I become and Air Traffic Controller? I'm very interested in becoming an Air Traffic Controller! I love the communication side of Aviation. I'm currently a Sophomore in college and my school does not offer an AT-CTI program, but it offers Flight Operations and Aviation Management (which I'm taking both). I was wondering what the process would be to become a controller the civilian way. I do not desire to join the military. I just want to be an ATC at airports in the US
  • What is the hiring process like to become a transportation security officer at the airport? I don't have any experience, how likely is it that I will get hired? They sent me an email saying I passed the eligibility requirements. They didn't say anything About experience.
