Can I still become an airline pilot?

So, I'm 5ft and I wear glasses, but my prescription is very low, as in +0.25 and +0.5. I was told to be a pilot you need to be 5ft 2 at least, and you need perfect vision. Is this true?

Yes, you can't qualify. If a pilot got onto a commercial plane wearing glasses, most of the passengers would get off, including me.

" I was told" by whom?

Glasses is no problem, height may be. You have to be able to reach the pedals easily.

Your corrected vision needs to be 20/20 - glasses are not a problem.

You would have to contact an airline of some kind and ask them their parameters for pilot hiring.

BUT WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO GET £100,00.00 PLUS?

  • What do I really need to become a pilot and work for an airline? Really, all aviation programs are extremely complicated to understand. Do I need a CPL? A bachelors degree? How does one become a pilot and work for an airline?
  • How can I become and Air Traffic Controller? I'm very interested in becoming an Air Traffic Controller! I love the communication side of Aviation. I'm currently a Sophomore in college and my school does not offer an AT-CTI program, but it offers Flight Operations and Aviation Management (which I'm taking both). I was wondering what the process would be to become a controller the civilian way. I do not desire to join the military. I just want to be an ATC at airports in the US
  • Too short to become a airline pilot? Hello i'm 22 Female, African American 5"0 1/2, I've always wanted a career in aviation for the experience, love for aviation and to give the passengers a enjoyable flight. I thought about becoming a airline pilot. Because of my height i'm pressuming id benefit from working for a regional carrier such as Mesa Airlines, Compass Airlines, DBA Endeavor etc. Before I even consider this as a career field am i too short to meet the qualifications of a airline pilot?
  • Can I become an airline pilot for a major airline if I go to college for a computer science degree (Bachelors Degree)? And also why is their so much debt in order to be a airline pilot? Is it because of people choosing the "go to college for aviation" sort of route?
