Buying a ticket for someone in another country?

I was going to book through expedia to purchase a ticket for my other half to visit his family in Sydney from Perth. But I'm not going to be with him.
I have read many things. I have a credit card which is prepaid and has $1300.00 on it that is available. I have his passport info but will I have to be present or can he just arrive at the airport and board the flight?

Ok

You can purchase the ticket but isn;t perth and sydney in the same country?

Assuming you are not in Australia, it shouldn't be a problem. These days the card is not asked for. You have met and know the person you are buying the ticket for?

There's something fishy here, and I hope that your "significant other" is someone you know and have met personally. Because if you have never been with him in person there's a good chance you are somehow getting scammed.

But as for purchasing the ticket, there's no issue purchasing a ticket for someone as long as you have their information. The issue in your case is that many Pre-Paid cards have blocks on purchasing things such as Airline tickets if you do not have a "Personalized" card. It is also always a good idea to purchase the tickets from the airline directly. But if they are in Australia and you are not. If you get a ticket from a Australian airline it may be an International Purchase depending on where they process the payments, which again many Pre-Paid cards block unless you contact them in advance.
