Does American Airlines check bags all the way to final destination? Incheon to Baltimore with layover in Dallas for 4 hours
I'm flying to the USA from South Korea (Incheon to Dallas Fort Worth to Baltimore) Both flights are serviced though American Airlines, do I need to pick up my bags at customs are check them again, and cross security?
Yes, they'll check them all the way to Baltimore. However, since Dallas is your first stop in the US, you'll pick up your bags at the carousel and walk them through customs. (Before that, you'll stand in line to have your passport checked). Then there's a room where they put the bags back on a conveyor belt to your next plane. It takes very little time. Just follow everyone else.
Your bag will be picked up in Baltimore. Your carry on needs rechecked. Be sure the tag is on it. Do not leave the airport. Just put it on the belt there for luggage. Go threw the check to your next gate. Pick up your bag the other side of the check in for your gate. Dallas has improved a lot.
You do need to pick up your bags in Dallas and carry them through the customs area. However, they will already be checked to Baltimore. You just need to drop them off to be sent to your next plane after going through customs.

- How does checked-in baggage work with layover/multiple airlines? Will be flying to Romania. I start with Iberia Airlines and layover in Barcelona for about 2 hrs. Then I fly to Bucharest with Blue Air. Normally when flying with layovers, it's one airline so I know it's forwarded to my final destination. But this is my first itinerary where I switch airlines at my layover; would that mean my baggage is forwarded to Blue Air anyways, or do I need to pick it up and check it in a second time?
- Southwest airlines Early Bird 36 hours check-in option? I purchased the Early Bird check in and it's supposed to let you check in 36 hours before the standard 24 hour check in. First question: Will it automatically check in for me? Second question: has anyone gotten this and still ended up getting the C group position?
- As a Canadian can I stay in a European country longer than my flight layover on the way to an Asian country? E.g. Leaving the Frankfurt airport as a stopover and staying in the city for a week before resuming the rest of the flight to Asia?
