Can i use an ikea FRUKTA bag as hold luggage on an easy jet plane?

I'm travelling to spain soon ona field trip, and i want to take a 65l rucksack but all of my stuff won't fit without me putting somthing like my sleeping bag attached to the side which i've been told easy jet can be funny about. I was wondering if i can use the Big ikea frukta bags (the ones with the zips and kinda like a holdall) to put my rucksack with the extras on the sides into it… Would this be safe if i locked teh bag and would the airline (easy jet) allow it?

You gonna carry it on or check it? It might be too big for a carry-0n. BTW, you can often find large duffles and such at goodwill and other thrift stores.

There are size regulations for carry-on luggage. Go to your airline or government transportation website to read the regulations.

With a SOFT sided bag if you do not cram it full to bursting capacity you can squeeze it in to fit the size limits. HINT wear the bulky stuff onto the plane. You do not need to keep on during the flight.

You take the risk of stuff attached to your bag. Suggest you use a large plastic bag( a bicycle bag) to cover both items

The attached stuff is part of measuring the size of space your stuff takes up in the luggage space.

would this be safe if i locked teh bag? Locks only keep out honest people. A hammer on a hard side or a knife on soft side gets to your stuff while lock stays closed.

Hold luggage

Each item you check-in as hold luggage has to be under a certain size and weight. Its total size has to be under 275cm (to find this out simply add its length + width + height) and a standard weight of 20kg per bag, except for sporting and medical equipment.

Have you heard of this thing called a tape measure. If you look on the IKEA website they do give the the size in inches and centimetres for your bag. Simple math to add it up. OVER is OVER also a simple concept.

The frukta bag is going to be too large for carry on and bulky anyway to try and fit in a overhead locker. You should make sure you can compact everything in to a regulation size bag.
