Can I take mayonnaise in my cabin bag on a British airways flight?
Can I take mayonnaise in my cabin bag on a British airways flight?
Mayonnaise is classed as a liquid and would be subject to the same restrictions as other liquids in the cabin - ie. No more than 100ml in total, must be in clear plastic bag. There may also be food security issues with your destination.
As long as it's in a container that's less than 100mL and passed through in a clear ziplock bag along with your other liquids/gels in your carry-on, it should be fine. You can't just take a jar of mayo with you.
As it is a liquid, it would need to be a small container. BA only allow a clear bottle up to 100 ml in your carry-on.
The other thing you could do is once you pass through security, go to any of the restaurants in the terminal and grab some packets of mayo.
A small amount. Not a big jar.
IF it is in a container that is no larger than 100ml. You could take several such containers if you felt it necessary.
Put all containers with liquid, gel, creams, pastes, lotions or mayonnaise in to a single 1 liter zip lock bag.
They may have mayonnaise aboard the aircraft. Call BA and ask.
You're unlikely to find a jar small enough, but if you have some of the small sachets you would be ok, just ensure they are in a clear bag going through security.
Only if its the right size to fit in your ziplock with your other liquids
Only 100mls worth. Why would you want to do that anyway?
100ml or less
