Why is it illegal to fly a drone around a commercial airline?
If someone was flying there drone around a plane trying to land at Chicago O'Hare why would that be illegal? I saw this on the news. Is it because the pilot of the airline is incompetent?
Are you genuinely as unintelligent as this question makes you look?
Even for a troll this question would be pathetic.
If "can't see the drone until it's too late to safely take an evasive maneuver" is incompetent, then yeah, that's the ticket.
A drone that is ingested in to the engine of a commercial aircraft can cause a catastrophic failure of the engine. While a commercial aircraft can fly on one engine, it is particularly vulnerable when it is at take off or landing. The reason it is illegal is because it endangers people's lives.
It can cause planes to crash or even just kill a ton of people onboard the plane if it gets caught in the airplanes wind turbines or whatever the things are on the planes wings
Do you know the story behind the movie Sully. The same thing can happen but instead of birds, it's drones.
Why don't you try dodging a remote car while driving an 18 wheeler. Same principle. Not so easy is it.
It's not if it's in your backyard
"Is it because the pilot of the airline is incompetent?"
The answer is NO
The answer is simple.
because the FCC has deemed the air space around airports as restricted air space.
Cause you're a troll
- What is the best path to becoming a commercial airline pilot? I have heard going into the Navy or Naval Officer Academy is a great way, but i'm still not sure.
- How do ex Presidents fly around? How do ex Presidents e.g. Presidents Clinton, Obama etc., get around. Does the US Air Force fly them around or do they travel by commercial airlines or private jet? Thanks for the "sensible" answers. @Pilsner Man what is the significance of "buckwheat" or am I just thick. Not from US.
- Is getting around Narita Airport easy? So I'm going to Japan for 10 days in September and I will be landing at Narita Airport. I'm a little nervous I may not find my gate or check in counter. Is it easy to find my gate and is there people there that will direct me to my proper gate at the airport when I go back home to New York since it's a big airport and do most people there speak English?
- Can I fly my drone a 1/4 of a mile close to the end of the radius of an airport? I live next to 3 airports but I'm just on the edge of the 5-mile radius. Would it be fine to fly my drone or do I need to contact the airports?
