Has anyone traveled around the country/world for at least 6 months? \?
How was it? Did you get sick of traveling/going to the airport? Do you recommend it? I would be travelling by myself so I'm worried I would be lonely/feel like a loser sometimes.
Yes
I was a world traveler when young. I spent several months in India and in other countries. I never got sick of airplanes - I absolutely love flying, but flying coach has gotten worse due to the fact that the seats are closer together and the plane really is a flying bus. I also had my wife with me, which meant i never suffered from loneliness. However, culture shock is a problem. Coming from the USA, it took no adjustment to cope with the UK, a little to cope with Germany, and a great deal to cope with India. It's a good idea to study the countries you are going to, and to use guide books and have a phrase book handy for easy requests and ordinary courtesies.
If you 'feel like a loser' it's only because you've allowed yourself to feel that way. Why would anyone travelling the world independently, paying their way, not causing trouble in the countries visited, consider themselves a 'loser'?
It's a remarkable thing to do, and can only make you a better educated and more tolerant person.
- What are the least demanding international airlines when hiring flight attendants (female)? I'm somewhat short (1,55m or 5'1ft) and have 6 tattoos (although only one is visible, a small one below my neck in my back but usually the scarf we flight attendants use hide it) so I'd like to know which airlines worldwide care less about those "shortcomings" when planning to hire a female flight attendant.
- Can this bag be used as carry on? Has anyone used this bag as carry on? Can my adidasĀ® santiago v medium duffel bag be used as carry on luggage on my international flight to Haiti? Has anyone else used the bag as carry on? I feel like it ll be too long but I've never been on a flight or in an airport so I just need help. It is an American Airlines flight
- I'm travelling with a 7mo baby on a overseas flight (BA). Anyone who has done it before could you give advise over what went right and wrong? What are the packing items I need to bring with me. Taking in consideration that the airline allows a bag for the baby but with size and weigh restrictions, and bearing in mind that it is a over 12 hrs flight
- Has anyone heard of an airline paying for a passengers's hotel on a long stopover? I see a flight with a stopover of 39 hours but wonder how airlines can offer such a lengthy flight unless they're willing to provide a hotel for the passenger. Has anyone heard of an airline that offers hotels for long stopovers?
