What happen if your airline switch a layover to a coutry that you are banned from?

I suppose you'd have to stay on the plane.

You would have an uncomfortable lay over.

Be switched to some other compination of flights

Given a refund and you make a new booking.by some other route.

If the Airline or lay over places knows you are banned you would be denied boarding for the first flight and either get some other arrangement, have your tickets cancelled and maybe they issue you a refund.
DO NOT expect a free hotel and meals while you wait.

It's very unlikely to happen international agreements for lay overs are arranged moths if not years in advance.

While you are at an airport you have not officially entered a country until you go through customs and leave the airport. So I can't see why it would be an issue to transit through there. They may ask you for proof that you are just meeting a connecting flight. It also depends on why you were banned.

Well, I'd love to know why you're banned from a country!
Sounds like a good conversation for a bar

In most countries, you stay in the international transit area of the airport, which means that you have not technically entered the country. Only if you go through Immigration are you in the country. So you shouldn't have a problem unless your layover is in one of those places where everyone has to go through Immigration upon arrival.

Since you do not go through immigration or leave the airport on layovers its no problem

Interesting that you could be banned from a country, but realistically you should check if the routing can be altered, as even though technically unto you go through customs and immigration you aren't in the country officially, there could be issue with just being in transit.

Not sure It would be worth the risk!
