Why does a flight attendant go in the cockpit when a pilot has to use the toilet?
I was on a Ryanair flight and I noticed when the pilot came out to use the washroom the flight attendant would enter the cockpit.
Why is that?
Either security reasons or there can never be just one person in the cockpit at any time.
So the flight attendant can watch the plane where it's going when the pilot is using the restroom.
I would guess it is just to monitor that the co pilot is alert and health. She would be able to respond to a medical emergence if something happened to him be paging the pilot back to the cabin at once. Only a guess though.
Because she has some 18+ stuff to do with the copilot
Germanwings Flight 9525 is why. A co-pilot intentionally crashed the plane after locking the pilot out of the cockpit during a bathroom break.
.
.
Because there's a law that says that there must be two people in the cockpit at all times. A pilot can't leave the cockpit while in flight unless someone else steps in.
She's flying the plane, of course.
Why do you think they call it a cockpit?
- Why don't airports use steam catapults and transverse arrestor cables, like they do on aircraft carriers, for extra short take-off & landing? 1. Airports could be pretty tiny with runways no longer than a football field 2. Takeoff and landing (takeoff especially) would be *much* more exciting 3. Airlines could charge people more money because the experience would be much more fun 4. It would save a lot of fuel with much less taxiing around the airfield, and much less fuel used during the takeoff phase
- Why do pilots still go to bathroom without having flight attendant in the cockpit? Hi. I thought a flight attendant should go into the cockpit when one of the pilots go to the bathroom because of what the German wing first officer pilot did to the airbus plane. But I was surprised when I saw an Air France A318 pilot getting out of the cockpit and going to the bathroom without having a second person in the cockpit when I was traveling from Paris to Geneva two months ago. Isn't it very dangerous? I thought the rules were changed after that German wings incident?
- Can airline pilots have service dogs/esa dogs? If so, do they bring them into the cockpit? It's just a question that popped into my head and when I looked it up I didn't see anything on it so I thought I should ask on here and see if anyone knows.
