Can i take cigerettes on the plane with delta airlines to dominican republic?

Yes, of course. The only problem would be that if you had so many it looks like you're going to sell them.

There are no security or airline restrictions on cigarettes. You can pack them in your carry-on or your checked baggage.

But the Dominican Republic limits you to a total of 200 cigarettes that you can bring into the country through Customs duty free.

The airline does not care at all.
The TSA do not care at all.
The customs people in the DR <<will>> care, so be certain to declare all the cigarettes that you have with you. It makes no difference if they are in your carry on bag or checked in luggage. They ALL count toward whatever limit the DR may have for importing tobacco products.

200 are allowed duty free. If you want MORE you PAY the import fees of Dominican Republic.

Does not matter the Airline.
You are expected to declare the stuff you have to the Customs Officer when you land. They can search you and your luggage.
Take all you want just say what you have.

Trying to hide it can be a very expensive penalty.
Read TSA and Airline restriction for your Matches or Lighter.

Torch lighters create a thin, needle-like flame that is hotter (reaching 2,500 F) and more intense than those from common lighters. Torch lighters are often used for pipes and cigars, and maintain a consistent stream of air-propelled fire regardless of the angle at which it is held.

As MS has stated it is not carrying cigarettes in your luggage that maybe the issue, but rather how many you have. Unless they are a brand your unlikely to find in Dominican Republic, why carry more than you need.
