Have you ever encounter a rude airline stewardess?

I asked the airline stewardess for vodka a few days ago and her colleague nearly took my head off. The young one who I was actually talking to was pleasant and smiled, but this older Hispanic stewardess interrupted us and said that it was offensive. When you are flying first class, the customer is always right, but it seems that the old dog forgot that along the way. I called Delta and reported her for being rude and they apologized and offered me a $200 credit. I'm still angry about it and I think they should have fired her.

No.

Once upon a time on a Virgin Atlantic flight from Gatwick to LAX a flight attendant punched me. True story (and I WAS in first class btw).

Nope.

Did you call her a stewardess? That is not an acceptable word today.

I never have but that don't nnean it can't happen

The customer is always right,
NOT ANY MORE. Some customers are rude and obnoxious.
NO employee is paid to put up with abuse.

Have you ever encounter a rude airline stewardess? NO and it could be I was a nice passenger.
Have encountered many rude passengers.

I called Delta and reported her for being rude and they apologized and offered me a $200 credit. GOOD FOR YOU. Do you ever call Delta and say you had a good flight? Takes just as long. STAFF just like you also like to hear about the good experiences too.

I'm still angry about it and I think they should have fired her.
So what can we do with rude and obnoxious passengers? Should they be fired too from their jobs. Have their minute of failure broadcast on the web for all to see.

You could always walk or take some other Airline if it bothers you that much.

this older Hispanic stewardess Really you are offended by older people and those that may come from a Latin America background. What was the ethnicity of the nice one?
Was she European American?

We've only heard your side of the story,.
We don't know whether you smiled pleasantly and said, 'Excuse me, I wonder if I could have a vodka when you have a minute', or whether you grabbed her elbow as she passed and said, 'Hey, get me a vodka'.

You said that the older woman said 'it was offensive'. WHAT was offensive? You haven't told us that either.

I have flown a number of times and have never encountered a rude steward/stewardess. But as bluebellbkk mentioned, there's always two sides of the story. Since you didn't state what the interruption was about, I can only surmise it was something of a priority if it was flight operation related.

"When you are flying first class, the customer is always right,"… This is a fallacy. People need to remove themselves from the "sense of entitlement".

Furthermore, your statement "but it seems that the old dog forgot that along the way." shows me you have a certain disdain for people who work in the service industry.

Troll.

I have definitely encountered a few rude flight attendants before, but hopefully they were just having a bad day. As for the one being rude, I'm not sure why she interrupted. As for the customer always being right, that is not true. Some customers think they are always right. I don't see how your question about asking for a drink can be considered offensive. At least you were given $200. Most likely you will not see that flight attendant again.

  • Are US airport CBP officers notorious for being rude? I'm curious about some of you guys experiences with them because I recently started flying overseas to fulfill my quest of seeing the world. Am I expected to anticipate rudeness every time I land back in the states? Is that apparently "the culture" in our country of USA?
