If a person who is not from the west is going to London or any other western country for the very first time what airport tips? - 1

I'm scared what if i lose my luggage after arriving over there and how should i make an exit after getting my luggage to the way from where my relatives can pick me i have been on domestic flights before but have never been on an international flight and to a majority english speaking country i know the airport basics are same in every country but usually airports in the west are very big and there are many terminals etc so it could be very confusing for someone who is not from the west and can read or write english but is not fluent in speaking please help

Every airport has signs directing passengers to baggage claim. You appear to me to be more than fluent enough to manage sign reading in an English speaking country. There are signs near baggage claim telling you where to find ground transportation, including being picked up, taxis, and buses.

Worst case scenario, your suitcase isn't there. There's an office where you file a lost claim. (It helps enormously if you have a good luggage tag on the handle and your name, cell phone number, and London contact information inside the suitcase, too, printed big.) They will locate your luggage and deliver it to you. (At least in the US, they do. Never had lost luggage in London.)

But what do to in the meantime? In your carry-on, you pack a bare minimum of what you couldn't manage without for a day. This is personal grooming items, clean underwear and socks, a fresh shirt, electronics and their chargers, an medications you need, and your printed travel documents. You can do okay until you bag catches up.

99.99% of luggage arrives with you.

there's ONE exit from the customs /Passport control Area. Your relatives meet you outside. Let them suggest the best place.
Mothers can spot their children in huge crowds in seconds.

You coming FROM… You do not land at every terminal. Your Airline has their assigned area well marked for your family.
No need to be fluent in English London and other Airports have staff that speak many languages.

IF YOUR luggage is not there inside the Customs area is your Airline Agent you deal with them and fill in the forms as best you can.

MOST missing baggage they already know where it is before the plane lands. You just wait for it to get to you. A day or two more.

Delayed baggage is almost 100% inspected by Customs when it arrives.

If you can read simple English you should be fine. All the signs are in English. And all the other people on the plane will be doing the same thing as you: picking up luggage, and going out of the terminal, and many of them will have people waiting for them just like you. Yes, there may be many terminals, but you are only arriving at one of them. It will say which one on your itinerary. Make sure your relatives know which one.

After passport control and customs, you walk out into a roped-off section, where you will see a lot of people around the outside, waiting to meet passengers off the same flight. If you don't see your family immediately, stay there, standing within the roped-off area so that they will see you. If you go outside that area, you will be in a mass of moving people, and it will be harder for them to find you. There's clear signage in airports. If you get lost, ask a member of staff.

There are clear signs everywhere, and lots of staff you can ask for help if you're unsure.
