Has anyone used Spirit Airlines? If so, what did you use for a bag for a personal item

Think of a backpack or a normal sized duffel bag. It has to fit under the seat in front of you otherwise they will hit you up for $100 at the gate. Soft bags work the best.
The maximum size for the Personal Item is 18"x14"x8". So that is a small backpack or laptop bag that you don't try to stuff everything but the kitchen sink into.
They are VERY strict as to the size and even a 1/2" over could cause you to be hit with a $65 fee at the gate because it is too big(of course you could be thankful they lowered from the $100 it used to be).
I've used a small tote bag or a normal purse. My kids usually take a string-pack.
- Can this bag be used as carry on? Has anyone used this bag as carry on? Can my adidasĀ® santiago v medium duffel bag be used as carry on luggage on my international flight to Haiti? Has anyone else used the bag as carry on? I feel like it ll be too long but I've never been on a flight or in an airport so I just need help. It is an American Airlines flight
- I'm travelling with a 7mo baby on a overseas flight (BA). Anyone who has done it before could you give advise over what went right and wrong? What are the packing items I need to bring with me. Taking in consideration that the airline allows a bag for the baby but with size and weigh restrictions, and bearing in mind that it is a over 12 hrs flight
- Does a blanket count as a personal item on Delta airlines? I have a flight at midnight and want to bring a blanket with me on the flight since itll be 9 hours, but the blanket doesn't fit in my personal bag? Could i just bring it with me not in a bag? Specifically for delta.
- I did an interview for Delta airlines and in the video interview I accidentally said American Airlines? Has anyone else had this problem? I caught it very quickly and said delta immediately and kept saying delta in the other answers. Do you think it can cost me the next step of the process?
