What makes Delta Airlines a good Airline?

Reliable, free beer

They have yet to crash a plane into a big building.

It has a good safety record. However, the customers are often treated like they're lucky to be allowed to buy a ticket.

They operate at a profit

They have a pretty good on-time performance record. They have good hub locations and they fly to a lot of different places. They have a strong presence in Europe and Asia as well. Their CEO is pretty smart and really helped make Delta an airline people want to fly on. I have flown Delta a number of times as they have the most flights from where I live. Do not have any major complaints against them.

We have status with them, because we carry a platinum AMEX card branded to them. So we rack up tons of Sky Miles when we fly. We buy FC most of the time, and when shut out in one direction, if we buy Comfort, we usually get upgraded. The card is $495 a year, but worth it to us, because of so many benefits. Good service, OT - No complaints. There are people who always look for CHEAP FLIGHTS - and then are mightily angry when they have a poor experience.

They don't have many planes, so less crash

They became much better after their merger with Northwest
Its like Northwests good business practices rubbed off on them.
But in general all US based airlines suck

What makes any airline good? Reliable service, frequency that works for your customer, the right price, and good customer service.

It doesn't have delays. Or better say it rarely has delays
