Will American Airlines allow an injured emotional support dog?

My dog is flying on the plane with me tomorrow as an emotional support dog but she just broke her foot. Vet says she's good to go with her cast but will the airline allow it?

I don't think so. Airlines are so strict nowadays sorry.

You're such a liar. Reported for FLAME BAITING. How AMAZING that your dog broke its foot right before a flight! I bet you can't even afford a $150 plane ticket, loser.

In the unlikely event that you're telling the truth then you are a selfish, uncaring **** to force your injured dog to walk around especially WHEN IT IS COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY.

As long as you didn't stick a knife, gun, or drugs in her cast.

You need to contact the airline, and also make sure you have your doctor's letter with you, and your Canine Good Citizenship certificate. It's unlikely that they will deny her due to a cast, but it will make it awkward for her to get in that little space between your seat and the one in front of you. Airlines now have the right to refuse any ESA that does not have the letter, and some sort of proof of training. And they can ban certain breeds totally - anything that looks like a pit mutt can be turned away. Call the airline today and see what they need from you (if you have not already) and also see if you can upgrade your seat to business class so that the dog will have more room.

If that's likely to affect him in the event of a fast exit, probably not. But isn't this one for AA to answer?
