By air, I assume you mean farts.
All flights originating in the UK are eligible for Air Passenger Duty. The further you fly the more you pay.
So how cheap do you think it should be to haul you and your stuff about 3500 miles.
I found a fare of 5 cents a mile for January. $306 return. $312 for February. Took one minute.
If you have a higher fare maybe you are not using the best East coast Airport and UK Airport. For the cheapest fares.
If you think the Air fare may be expensive be advised you are expected to have sufficient funds for your reasonable travel plans in Scotland. They could just send you back to the USA if you can't afford a reasonable stay in Scotland.
If you want a better answer suggest you say WHERE on the east coast you are starting from and WHEN. You do not have to fly direct to Scotland. Many ways to get there with a stop or two on lower cost Airlines.
Don't be silly.
You travel after you have put away money for 6 months of living and saved for retirement. You don't spend those funds so you do not go broke traveling. I've traveled to over 85 countries including over 15 trips to the UK You book the airline that goes where you need to go at the best price. I just checked prices and they are looking very reasonable. If you can't afford to travel, stay home.
It's $340 round trip NYC to London and a 30pd train ticket to Glasgow.
If you think that is outrageous, probably need to stay home.
How expensive do you think they are? On Sky Scanner, it ranges from £232 to £353, which seems pretty cheap to me.
If you had access to the internet you could search for comparative prices all by yourself, if only.
I doubt you can fly from Scotland to US because my daughter flew from Scotland to Heathrow(London) and Heathrow to Orlando and she paid around $600 return
- How was your trip to Scotland? Me and my girlfriend are considering taking a trip to Scotland in March. We re just looking for some opinions/tips from people that have gone before. Obviously we want to do it as cost effectively as possible. What airline did you fly? Where did you stay? Did you do a lot of sightseeing? Is it possible to take a train to nearby cities/countries rather quickly and cheaply? How s the food? Was the trip expensive? Any help is appreciated! This will be our first trip to Europe.
- Is becoming a regional airline pilot one of the few great jobs that you can have without a college degree? Many regional airlines don't require college degrees. Is becoming an E-170 or CRJ700 captain much better than working as a bus driver or a carpenter? You think sleeping at Motel 6s or Motel 8s and drinking that free coffee is bad? It would be a very nice treat for bus drivers or people with other jobs that they could find with no degree. I would be honored to sleep at Motel 6 or Motel 8 for free. At least it is much better than hostel or Airbnb.
- What is the worst airline in east asia? There are Thai airline, malaysian, EVA Air Asia went down twice in the last 3 years, should that mean anything?
- How does putting a pet in airline cargo work, what's it like to do that? In a couple months I will be shipping my cat through cargo on an airplane. So what's that like, what should I expect? Will they treat her like a checked bag? Should I put a lock on her kennel? Should I attach food and water bowls? I want to, but won't they spill? Anyone have experience with doing this? How'd your pet hold up? How does it work, how do you get them back?
