Is taking off from John Wayne airport (SNA) really Intense? Speed and steepness?
Asking for a First time flyer who's really nervous! (Myself)…
Flying isn't that bad, i think riding in a car is worse, that can cause nnore accidents
No
Most places, airplanes take off at a 45 degree angle. They want to get as high as they can as fast as they can, for noise-abatement. So as soon as you get off the runway the plane will tilt up and you'll be pushed back in your seat. Doesn't matter what airport you fly out of. In a minute or two they'll level off.
John Wayne is a much easier airport to get through, find your gate, etc., than LAX. There's a cool statue of John Wayne out front!
Don't worry. People do this all the time.
It is not a favorite of pilots
No more or less "intense" than any other airport.
No, it's no different than most other places
What, haven't you actually GONE yet?
Be thankful you'll never have to land at Hong Kong's old airport Kai Tak.
John Wayne Airport is in an area where airplanes to have to climb quickly because of the residential area. However it should not be that bad and since you are first time flier, you have nothing to really compare it against. Just sit back and enjoy the flight. Think of who you will see and what you will be doing at your destination.
- Why don't airports use steam catapults and transverse arrestor cables, like they do on aircraft carriers, for extra short take-off & landing? 1. Airports could be pretty tiny with runways no longer than a football field 2. Takeoff and landing (takeoff especially) would be *much* more exciting 3. Airlines could charge people more money because the experience would be much more fun 4. It would save a lot of fuel with much less taxiing around the airfield, and much less fuel used during the takeoff phase
- Will Alitalia really go out of business within a year? Their service was horrible and the plane was so old and the seats had cracks and holes. I think the entire airline and its employee should leave
- What do I really need to become a pilot and work for an airline? Really, all aviation programs are extremely complicated to understand. Do I need a CPL? A bachelors degree? How does one become a pilot and work for an airline?
- Asthma suffers do you have any problems taking your inhalers through Airport security? I'm off to Canada tomorrow from Heathrow and I have packed two inhalers in my hand luggage, they are in a clear re-sealable bag, I don't have the original box or prescription. Should this cause any issues? Has anyone else had any issues getting inhalers through Airport security?
