Would you be O.K. With being weighed before any airline flight with all on-board so that the correct amount of fuel can be calculated?
Would you be O.K. With being weighed before any airline flight with all on-board so that the correct amount of fuel can be calculated?
No
Not because I'm worried about people seeing how much I weigh, they can see how fat I'm whether I'm standing on a scale or not.
I'd be against it because I wouldn't want to fly on any airplane where they are trying to calculate the fuel that closely. I'd rather fly on a plane where they just carry plenty of reserve fuel for emergencies, delays, headwinds etc.
Should be no problem for people.
No. Weather and other conditions require extra fuel. Cutting fuel to the absolute minimum would be dangerous. Also, you can just measure the weight of the plane with all the passengers and baggage and save time and errors.
This used to be standard practice, in the early days of flying.
While they certainly don't need to be that precise any more in terms of fuel capacity, it would be one way to iron out the injustice of a 300 lb passenger with a heavy suitcase and the maximum of carry-on luggage paying the same price as, and sitting in the same kind of seat as, a slender person with one light carry-on bag.
I would be OK with the price of the fare was by the weight.
Yes. Not a problem. Anything that makes the airline's haphazard weight and balance values more accurate is positive.
No. That's an invasion of privacy.
As long as it was done in such a way as to not make wait time any longer
I'm NOT OK with ANY of the stuff we have to go through these days, even though I understand why they do it, but if I want to go somewhere that's too far to drive to, I have no choice.
Everyone should be weighed. It's idiotic that a 9 stone person has to pay extra for being 2lb over on their luggage when there are people weighing 20 stone on the flight you haven't had to pay extra for themselves.
- Flight status from Paris to Benin (country in Africa)? When I tried to see the flight status Live in route on Air France, all it states is? "Flight position Not available at this time". What are the reasons that could be? When I have tried to see the flight status for other flights, I have no problem seeing the Live Flight status, so why am I having difficulty for this flight. I even contacted the airline and they don't know either. So any information on this would be helpful and interesting.
- Airplane mechanics: why would a plane have to burn off fuel before landing? My local news just talked about a flight having to return to the airport after "mechanical issues with the nose gear", but then it said that the plane had to circle the airport for about an hour "ro burn off enough fuel for landing". I'm curiois why would it have to burn off fuel instead of just landing? Especially if it turned around for mechanical issues.
- I missed my flight, the airline is being difficult, can anyone So the airline is saying that I had enough time to catch my connecting flight, how ever my luggage is still at the airport. Wouldn't it have been transferred to the connecting flight if I had enough time?
- I've been applying to flight attendant positions and was wondering how much notice do airlines give you before you must attend training? How much time do you have to say goodbye to family, friends, etc before you go away to the training program? I applied to Delta, United, and American, so if there are varying time frames per airline, please let me know.
