In addition, three airports can handle A380 cargo planes:

Memphis International Airport

Louisville International-Standiford Field Airport

Dulles International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport are close to being ready for the A380, according to the FAA.

Hi so why should it be any different to any other aircraft. Just because the europeans build a better aircraft than Boeing why should they be not to fly into any airport. Jealousy has a lot to do with any bans, like concorde suffered as americans got the hump over it. Because they didn't produce the best then.

The a380 needs a MINIMUM 3000 meter (10,000 foot) runway to take off when loaded to capacity. That eliminates all airports with shorter runways. Other considerations would be airport terminal facilities that could handle from 500 to 800 passengers from one flight. Airports are NOT going to build new terminal buildings just to accommodate large numbers of passengers from ONE airplane.
