Can i be rebooked with a different flight?

I had a little bit of a crazy morning and ended up missing my flight home. They told my that I can be on stand by on the next flight or pay $200 for a guaranteed spot. Unfortunately, they only have one flight to Honolulu daily, which means I will be missing Christmas morning with my family. I'm wondering if I should have asked the agent if it's possible to be on stand by with another airlines that have flights today (Christmas eve day) so I can be home by tomorrow?

You appear to be a child. Grow up.

Christmas Eve is one of the busiest travel days of the year. Your chances of getting on a flight from a standby list today are practically nil, regardless of what airline you use. If you want to get on a flight today, of all days, pay the $200.

No. You missed the flight. They would not put you on another airline. $200 for a guaranteed seat when it was your fault is pretty generous on the airline so don't punch a gift horse in his mouth. The airline wasn't even obligated to do that

Of course you can. You don't need anyone's permission. But neither is anyone but you going to pay for it.

You're getting a break if they'll put you on tomorrow's flight at no addutional cost. They don't have to do that.

I don't know

If it was your fault you missed your flight, then I think it is nice of the airline to put you on stand-by on the next flight. If it was the airline's fault you missed your flight, then they should not charge you for a guaranteed seat. It is up to you to decide if it is worth $200 to spend Christmas with your family.

Yes, You can be rebooked with different flights. You should coordinate with airlines for next flight and also you can search flights via ixigo. Here you can search flights price from different airlines in one roof, compare price and book your flights tickets.
