I think this isn't really affected by day of the week. I think its about how far away the flight is. The further away you book the flight the better. The exception is that I think you can find cheap last minute flights in some cases if they have empty seats

An agent once told me that the more you look the higher the prices rise as companies can tell how many people are looking so when they think the demand is there they hike the price.
