What option would be best?
I want a dog but I go on holiday a couple of times a year what would be better
A. Go on 2 holidays that are 3-4 weeks long per year
B. Go on 3-4 holidays that are 2 weeks long per year
Note. I do go on a couple of national holidays and for those they will join me.
No I can't take them on my international holidays because I don't trust airlines and I live in Australia and I can't drive across the ocean
If I decide to get a puppy I won't go at all until they are 12-18 months of age.
Do you have a dog sitter or boarding facility that you trust?
Because if not, your option is to either not get a dog, or don't go on vacation.
Many people who go on vacation often do make the rationale decision to not own pets.
Not getting a dog would be better. Enjoy your life, for the 2nd time
Get a dog you can take with you on your vacations with you or don't get a dog. Would you leave a child in child care while you go on vacation? You don't leave the dog either. If you can't take the dog with you, don't get a dog or stay home with it.
I'd say go with option A. Just find someone to take care of them for that time or find somewhere like a kennel for them to stay at. Just make sure to do your research before sending them to something along the lines of a kennel. I don't know if it's the same for Australia but in the US there are some kennels that either don't take proper care of your dog, harbor less then friendly dogs with yours or even send your dog home with fleas. I'd say it's the same for daycares, well, except for the fleas (I hope).
When my dog wasn't even more than 3 or 4 months old I went on a trip over seas and had my grandmother watch her. Later that year, I went on another trip across the country and had my grandmother watch her again. Now my dog is 7 the two of us go on camping trips every weekend during the summer and she absolutely adores it; even the 2 hour drive to the camp grounds.
- Would flying between 40k and 45k miles a year make me a frequent flyer? The past few years I have kept track of the amount of (real) miles I have flown -- I say real miles to distinguish them from airline miles, because I don't always fly with the same rewards program -- and the average is about 40 to 45k miles a year. In everyday conversations, would it make sense to consider myself a "frequent flyer," or is that only for people who fly like 100k plus every year?
- Southwest airlines Early Bird 36 hours check-in option? I purchased the Early Bird check in and it's supposed to let you check in 36 hours before the standard 24 hour check in. First question: Will it automatically check in for me? Second question: has anyone gotten this and still ended up getting the C group position?
- Airplane mechanics: why would a plane have to burn off fuel before landing? My local news just talked about a flight having to return to the airport after "mechanical issues with the nose gear", but then it said that the plane had to circle the airport for about an hour "ro burn off enough fuel for landing". I'm curiois why would it have to burn off fuel instead of just landing? Especially if it turned around for mechanical issues.
- At an airport, would I have to take out small electronics out of my luggage during X-Rays? I have a DS and a Nintendo Switch in my bag and it would be quite the ***** to take them out and put them back in.
