What is difference between an Economy ticket & first class airline ticket?

A seats a seat at the end of the day.

A 5 hour plane journey is still a 5 hour plabe journey.

How does your life improve of you spend £5,000 more than everyone else on a 5hour plane journey?

@ Jennifer Often true, but not always.

Seats are actually not all equal. There are other benefits to traveling "up front" that make it a MUCH better experience than traveling in Economy.

However, I agree that spending an extra £5,000 for a five hour flight is probably ridiculous. I would not spend that much.

Note celebrities always travel in First or Business if they can because whoever is sitting next to them is FAR less likely to bother them than in Economy.

That really depends on your preferences. You might as well ask why anybody spends extra money on anything. Why purchase a luxury vehicle when a regular car can get you from Point A to Point B in the same amount of time? Why purchase suits when a t-shirt and cheap jeans will work just fine? Why eat at fine restaurants when a sandwich at home will sustain you just as much?

If somebody is willing to shell out extra money for a moderately nicer seat, then you should be pleased. If airlines couldn't sell those tickets, then the average ticket price would rise. So when a rich idiot spends an extra £5,000 for a 5 hour plane trip, that helps make it easier for you to fly.

You're finally boarding the plane, checking out your seatmates, and scouting for space in the overhead bin. But first, you have to shuffle through the premium cabins. You try not to notice the passengers' mimosas, the plush seat cushions, or the oceans of legroom - but you can't help but imagine how sweet it would be to fly in first class or business.

The seat up front is a fold out massage bed, where you will be served champagne and superior food during the flight. The stewardess will prioritise your every need, and perform sex acts on you if you ask her nicely. In back, you share the width of the aisle with seven to ten other people, you eat what you're given and you are fixed into place in a one-doesn't-suit-anyone seating position which will give you deep vein thrombosis and where people's digestive gases accumulate during the flight.

First Class Pricing - Beat the System Many airlines no longer have a true First Class section anymore, preferring to run only Coach and Business For a long haul operator, Coach (Economy) - Misery Coach Plus (Economy Plus

A first class ticket costs several times more, and in return for that you get a much bigger seat you can actually lie down and sleep in, better food and a much higher quality of service. You might well appreciate that on a long flight. Better still for a compromise on price and value, go business class - you'll still get a seat that turns into a bed.

It's very unlikely that you'll find a load of drunken Hen Party members or Batchelor Party raising hell within 1st class lol! 1st class isn't about improvement per - say, it's about comfort and much better food and service! All of which are down to an individual. And
clearly you sound perplexed because you'd never be able to afford 1st class. Neither could I but it's never stopped me enjoy or worrying about how much I paid if the plane or train was going to crash. LOL! Sorry you caught me on one of my mischievous days!

The same difference as buying a base model Nissan Pixo and a fully loaded Bentley Bentayga. Both will get you from A to B but one is basic transportation and the other is transportation with all the bells and whistles.

I have never paid for a first class seat in my life, and probably never will unless I win the Lottery.
But I've got an important birthday coming up and I'd like to revisit the country where I was born. It's a 13 hour flight from where I live, I'm getting old, I have painful arthritis in my hip, and for the first time ever I'm contemplating paying for business class. I believe it'll be worth it in terms of comfort and relaxation.
The food isn't an issue. On the airline I intend to use, and have often travelled on in Economy, food is great even at the back. So is the service. It's purely for the ability to put my feet up and sleep flat.

You get more space, enough to lay down, and a certain amount of privacy. That is what you are paying for.

  • Can I upgrade to first class with my many many points? I have a main cabin ticket on American Airlines issued by a tour company. Is there a mechanism that I can use to sacrifice my many flight points to get a first class seat? I do not have a gold status.
  • Plane ticket has first, middle and last name but my passport only has first and last name? I'm flying Scandinavian Airlines and my plane ticket has my first, middle, and last name but my passport only has my first and last name. Does anyone have any experience with this or think it will be an issue? I called the travel agency and they told me they could not do anything to correct the middle name. I was also thinking about bringing another form of ID like a birth certificate or social security card to be safe.
  • United Airlines Economy vs Basic Economy? My ticket says United Economy on it but I'm wondering if it's basic? Would it say? There's a difference, right? Sorry if it's a stupid question
  • What's the difference between a commercial and airline pilot? https://www.bls.gov/ooh/transportation-and-material-moving/mobile/airline-and-commercial-pilots.htm In the link above, if you click on the Pay section then it gives different salaries for a "commercial pilot" and an "airline pilot" Which role is the one where you fly for big airline companies? (Delta, Alaska, American)
