Plane ticket has first, middle and last name but my passport only has first and last name?

I'm flying Scandinavian Airlines and my plane ticket has my first, middle, and last name but my passport only has my first and last name. Does anyone have any experience with this or think it will be an issue?

I called the travel agency and they told me they could not do anything to correct the middle name. I was also thinking about bringing another form of ID like a birth certificate or social security card to be safe.

You should *try* and have the airline's customer support person change the name of the ticket to match your passport.

Of course the travel agency can't do anything about your passport. Only your country's passport office can do anything about any errors in your passport. It's very odd that your passport does not have your full name, seeing as you have to submit several pieces of ID to get a passport. Was your middle name not on those forms of ID? Since it can take a while to get anything done about a passport, it would be best to ask the airline to change your name on the ticket. I don't know how much it matters if there's one name missing but I wouldn't take the chance that it does matter.

There's no need to worry, the important details are your first and last name, if they appear on your ticket and passport with the same spelling, then there's no issue. I suggest that you add your middle name when you next renew your passport though, as this will save any worries if you regularly use your middle name. Personally I rarely write my full name including middle name, occasionally using an initial.

I don't understand. A passport must have your FULL name. How can your middle name not be on it?
