They're both great airlines. I suppose the deciding factor would be departure and arrival times and connection times. Only you can make that decision. Both airlines have one flight per day between dfw and the middle east but qatar has 4 to Kathmandu while Emirates does not operate their flights and you'd be on the sister airline flydubai which is a low cost airline.
If you had the chance to fly an an Airbus A380, I'd do that but I'm an aviation nut.
Also, if you have a frequent flyer program, see if Emirates or qatar is part of it. You would earn a lot of miles
Both are excellent airlines. I suggest you look at the departure and arrival times as well as how long your connection time is is either Doha or Dubai. If one airline has a 10 hour connection or a really tight one, I would go with the other airline. However if you are an American Airlines frequent flier, then I would go Qatar Airways as both are OneWorld Alliance members and you can earn AA frequent flier miles.
Emirates is the better choice
Check the routing and times. There's a good chance they are the same physical aircraft but marketed by various airlines. This is called a "codeshare flight".
- Is it safe for two planes to take off at the same time at the same airport? I was wondering because I was flying out of Guangzhou airport in China and I saw another plane on another runway take off almost at the same time we did (he was headed away from us though)
