I have international flight starting from indianapolis to Newark airport on united airline and the second Flight from JFK airport to Trukey?

So I will need to change the airport from newark airport to JFK
My question is am I going to get my luggages to the final destination ( Turkey) or I have to pick my luggages from newark airport and check them in JFK airport?

Pick up at Newark and check them in at JFK.

Yes, you will have to get your luggage and carry it from one airport to the other.

I suggest you change your flight from Indianapolis to JFK instead of Newark. EWR and JFK are two different airports, located in two different states. Transferring between them is complicated, time consuming and involves multiple train transfers. You can take a taxi or Uber, but that will be costly, and you will be responsible for all tolls.

You have to pick them up in Newark and check them in again at JFK. They would automatically transfer if you fly into and out of th same airport - either JFK or Newark.

Indianapolis may feel like a different country than Newark. Your first flight is DOMESTIC.
When your flight lands YOU fetch your luggage and get it to the other Airport (JFK)

Many ways Public transit, taxi UBER and so on. YOU DECIDE.

YOU and YOUR LUGGAGE go through security check at JFK.

Enjoy your journey UP TO YOU to have enough time to change Airports.

Allow AT LEAST 2-3 hours. To do this.
You are expected to be at the check in area for INTERNATIONAL flight at JFK AT LEAST 3 hours before departure.

Up to you to allow enough time. As you can't guarantee the arrival time in Newark good idea to have some extra time for the change of Airports. Some days it is fast some days traffic issues can make it a LONG journey time.

Not a good idea to aim at being the last person to board your EXPENSIVE over the Ocean part of your travel.

You can follow these suggestions, but I also recommend that, JUST in case, you take a carry on piece of luggage on board with you, containing anything that you might need if your luggage is delayed or lost. I do this all the time, even for short flights, without changing countries. You never know! Bon Voyage!

You will have to pick up your bags and take them with you to JFK. The airline would change them for you if they were at the same airport, but the airlines do not provide transfers of luggage between airports.

You'll need to collect your luggage at Newark and get yourself to JFK either to drop your bags or checkin again. I'd just book a transfer bus, as taxis will be exorbitant and you don't really want to try public transport.

Thats two different flights from two different airports
so you have to pick up your luggage at Newark and
and check in at JFK with your luggage
Edit: the trip from Indianapolis to Newark is a domestic flight

If all goes normal, you will arrive in Turkey and your luggage will be in Peoria.

All kidding aside, you don't need to recheck your luggage. In fact, you can't. Once it's check and placed into the belly of the plane, it's 100% out of your control. When you land at JFK, your luggage will be removed from that plane and then reloaded into the adjoining flight.

  • Will I need a second seat on an airplane? My grade 12 band class is going on a summer break field trip to Ontario next week but I'm worried I might need a 2nd seat. I read a PDF on airplane seats and apparently they range from 17-18 inches and my "surface measurement" is around 23-24 inches. Would the airline be a little more lenient since its a whole class trip? I could use some feedback because I might just end up not going. It would be super embarrassing if I had to get a second seat in front of my class.
  • Can Air Koryo join One World if North Korea and South Korea get united and Air Koryo buys more Airbus or Boeing planes? Korea already has Star Alliance (Asiana) and Skyteam (Korean Air) airlines. If Kim jong un dies and these two Korea become one Korea, can Air Koryo join One World after buying more newer planes like the A320 or 737?
  • Where to pick up luggage at Haneda Airport for International to International transfer Hi, I'm a Philippine passport holder (not eligible for japan pass), i'm just wondering do i have to get pass the immigration just to get my luggage? Because I will be staying in haneda airport for a 16 hour layover (overnight). Thus, I have to pick up my bag because the airport will not keep it overnight. And re check it in the morning.
  • What's the process of starting an airline? I would never do it, but I'm curious how one would go about founding an airline. Is it easy? How long does it take to buy a plane and get approval from the FAA and so on?
