Can I wear lab coat to airport or flight?

I've never been to airport before. I usually wear my white lab coat. Can I wear this to airport? I mean are there any restrictions or could I get into trouble for wearing it?

Your lab coat should not cause any problems. You can wear it at the airport.

Lab coats should be fine, just no experimenting around.

You can wear it if you want.
If security wants to give you an extra check or have you take it off they will.
That you seek to draw attention to yourself by unusual attire is up to you.

No restriction. You'll need to remove it to go through TSA security, but otherwise it's fine.

The fact someone asks such things is a sad reflection on society. People fear way too much and have no common sense because of this fear.

Yes you can wear it

You have selected a best answer, but I will answer anyways in support of the best answer.

As mentioned, no restrictions. While at the checkpoint, make sure you remove the lab coat and send it through the x-ray prior to entering the body scanner. Upon clearing security screening, you may wear your lab coat thereafter.
