Have you ever been treated poorly or differently to everyone else at the airport?
I was boarding the plane back home from Spain. This lady checked my passport and moved me to one-side. She didn't speak to me, until everyone else was already ahead. I had a backpack and small hand held bag. This ***** was saying I can't take 2 bags on board. But obviously they would have stopped be before during security checkout right?! I saw other people with 2 bags, she didn't say anything to them. She told me to put my backpack in my small bag that I was holding. It was clearly not going to fit.
Oh, the trauma!
No. But sounds like you have had a different codes ticket. Some tickets are restrictive on how much you can bring on board.
No, I haven't and you may not either depending on what class of service you're in and the size of your bags.
They pull people aside randomly for a security search. Normally, you are allowed one carry on bag and one personal item. Your items might have been too large. Or you might have looked suspicious. Our students, if they had beards, were likely to be searched on the return from Holland, on the suspicion that they were smuggling drugs. Other countries do not have the laws about not discriminating against people that the US does.
Even as a white female, I had all my luggage searched one time when I was on a one-way ticket. There are all kinds of things that can trigger suspicion. It's the post 9-11 world.
Yes some good some bad. I was changing planes in the Philippines on a flight from America. Were luggage allowance was 2 kilo less than the flight in to the Philippines. Why I wear cargo pants with big pockets. I loaded up my pockets & gave the ttendent legal weight luggage. He got a bit uppity. Had to walk a bit funny till I could get to boarding area to remove most from my pockets to stuff into my carry on bag. Another time in Cebu I had a bad flight connection. They let me threw to boarding area to wait for the next flight. 12 hour delay. But a smoking room there at that time. Had a smoke & bite to eat. Went to sleep under a bench seat. Next they are kicking me awake yelling hurry hurry follow us. Put me on a irregular flight to CDO. Nothing like flight on a prop job. This trip in I returned with a new US passport. In customs they looked at it. Then must have checked it. Seen how much time I spend in the Philippines & have residence here. The Custom person said welcome back sir. Said glad to be back. So some good over the bad.
- I've been applying to flight attendant positions and was wondering how much notice do airlines give you before you must attend training? How much time do you have to say goodbye to family, friends, etc before you go away to the training program? I applied to Delta, United, and American, so if there are varying time frames per airline, please let me know.
- Do you ever eat at airport restaurants after flying into your home airport? - 1 If not, why? The other day I was waiting to pick up family members at my home airport and a worker at an airport restaurant greeted me and asked how I was and what I was up to, so I stated that I was picking up family members that are flying in and the worker says "well hey you guys should come by for some dinner on your way out" I just wondered if there's ever a possibility any of you eat at airport restaurants after arriving into your home airport.
