I carried Lovenox. They could not care less. But carry a note from your doctor in case some TSA agent freaks. I was detained because I had on a front- hook bra. They acted like they had never seen one.

I would call thern up and ask thern that, they will let you know

Probably yes
TSA can refuse anything if they are suspicions
Vitamin C is easily available many sources. Of it.
It would keep better in your checked bag

the needles are the issue not the vitamin C

If it is prescribed by your doctor and you can prove it is need during the flight of has to be kept cold you could be OK. It is unlikely they would accept an over the counter injection kit, where it wasn't essential for your journey, vitamin c can be taken in all number of ways including soluable tablets.

The TSA are the screeners, not AA.
The only issue could be the manner in which you keep it cold. Taking ice cubes in a plastic bag will probably NOT be allowed. There are many items available that use a gel substance in a cloth package. You freeze the gel pack then put that in with the Vitamin C vial or pen.
