Question about carry on's For American Airlines?
I know that it tells me to bring only one carry-on on the airplane but can I still bring two anyway? Gonna bring my
laptop backpack and my Canon camera bag
Some seats allow only 1 carry on, some allow 1 carry on and 1 personal item (slightly smaller measurements. Unless your camera bag is huge, I expect there will be no problem
Yeah, those low fares that have conditions like only one carry on, they don't mean it. Anyone can bring as much as they want.
1 Carry-on usually means one bag and one purse or personal bag. If you don't carry a purse, you can have a small personal bag instead. You're probably okay based on the items you've mentioned.
It says one, so why do you think two is OK?
If you have a Basic Economy ticket, then you are allowed only one personal item. It must fit under the seat in front of you. You can't use the overhead, and you can't purchase a carry-on allowance to use the overhead. They are strict about this.
If you have a regular economy ticket, then you can take one overhead carry-on item (your backpack) and one personal item for under the seat in front of you (your camera bag).

- American Airlines vs Delta vs United Airlines? I'm traveling from New Orleans to Miami. I'm using an app called trip adiviser and Skyscanner to get cheap tickets and would like to know which out of the three airlines are a better choice. If anyone who reads this has experienced anything life threatening or traumatizing on while using one of these airlines please share! Is Southwest Airlines a better choice than the three listed above?
- Why are American Low Cost airlines very good compared to European Low cost airlines? Hi. Ryanair and Easy jet suck in Europe. I was so impressed by JetBlue and South West in the US. They were just like legacy major airlines
- Are American Airlines carry on restrictions exact? Or linear? I saw online that the restrictions are 22x14x9 but both of the carry ons I have at home are 21x15x9. Does it go by the total inches? Which would be 45 for both. Or will they give me problems because of the bigger width. I'd hate to have to pay the checking fee over an inch.
