Is a checked bag included with my flight?
I booked an international flight from the US to Australia via Qantas. When I go to baggage it says included baggage: 0kg x2 then when you view more details it says (Up to 23kg/50lb each and 270cm/106in in total) so I'm not exactly sure what that means?
Also!
Next to it, it says carry on allowance: cabin bag combination +1 personal item. What's a cabin bag combination? I assume it's just a small carry-on sized bag that's included?
Sorry! This is my first time flying and besides the paperwork stuff, I'm not exactly sure how any of this work (specifically around baggage/airports).
Go to the Official Qantas website and that will explain things more clearly.

Call the airline!
It's usually extra. Just make sure it's not overweight or it will be even more.
Yes
If you are flying economy, then you should receive 2 free checked bags on this flight - each may way no more than 23kg, or 50lbs. The 3 dimensions of these bags must add to 106 inches or smaller.
You should get 1 carry-on bag (which would go in the overhead compartment) and one personal item (such as a handbag or computer case, which would go under the seat in front of you). The 3 dimensions of the carry-on must add to 45 inches or smaller, and your carry-on bags must be under 15lbs.
- Can this bag be used as carry on? Has anyone used this bag as carry on? Can my adidasĀ® santiago v medium duffel bag be used as carry on luggage on my international flight to Haiti? Has anyone else used the bag as carry on? I feel like it ll be too long but I've never been on a flight or in an airport so I just need help. It is an American Airlines flight
- I'm taking my first flight ever and it's with Alaska airlines. I don't have a suitcase, so I'm bringing a large duffel bag. Is this okay? I would rather not be charged extra! The bag is a little longer than a normal suitcase but a lot thinner
- Backpacking to the Phillippines for a month and my bag weighs 25lbs, am I able to carry it in the plane or do i have it checked in? I don't want to have it checked in and worried that the airline will tell me to have it checked in. My bag is also 44L.
- Traveling through JFK airport with a firearm in my checked baggage? I'm flying out of JFK with a handgun in my checked bag, or at least I think I will once I hear y'all responses. I have heard horror stories about people getting arrested at the airport for not having a NYC permit. I DO NOT have an NYC permit, I live in PA and have my PA and FL Permit, only traveling through JFK airport, not staying in NYC. Does anyone have any expertise or experience doing this.
