TSA gives me a pat down every time I go through security?

I have been traveling quite often for work over the last few months and have probly been through security at different airports about a dozen times. Every single time, the machine detects something in my crotch, and every single time TSA ends up patting me down. There's nothing in my pockets, no belt, no metal plates or health related implants. Does anyone know why this would be happening? I thought it was just a fluke at first but now it's starting to get weird. Why would I be seeing off the machine in the crotch area every single time?

Maybe has something to do with the cloth in the cloths you are wearing? I recently went through TSA wearing a Nike dry fit tee shirt and TSA claimed to see something, I had to get the pat down up around my shoulders and chest.

One of the things the full body scanners do is detect areas which have different thickness. My daughter had beads on her skirt which caused a pat down. I've had an extra pocket or such on my pant leg which has caused a pat down. It's possible the clothing, or undergarments you wear are causing this type of thing.

If you are wearing Jade infused or similar cooling undies (Duluth Trading?) this might do it. If this is a pathetic reference to mass, thickness, size - then your insecurity is sad.

Its the machine. It is now totally automated. The machine simply identifies areas to check. I went through recently wearing shorts and sneakers, no socks and the machine said to check my ankle which was completely visible.

The machines are set to go positive whenever one of TSA's degenerates sees someone he/she wants to get some jollies from. You must meet the sleazes' ideals for molesting

This used to happen to me too. I finally asked the TSA agent why…
He said… Open your legs wider. Now I make sure they are on the outside of the little feet markings and it's not happening any longer.

I wish I would get patted down.

But, it is possible the machine is picking up a medical issue (tumor, cyst, fatty growth) as it has happened in the past (yes, it is rare, but does happen)

  • Can I pass through Airport Security with Cooked lunch in my Carry-on/Personal during travels to the USA? I plan on making a trip to the USA for the summer, However, one of my flights has a long stop where I will be waiting for more than 10 hours until the next plane departs. As you can imagine that's a lot of waiting, and I don't want to buy the expensive food available at the airport. So is it okay to prepare a cooked meal and bring along with me? Example: Baked Chicken and Rice with steamed vegetables.
  • Asthma suffers do you have any problems taking your inhalers through Airport security? I'm off to Canada tomorrow from Heathrow and I have packed two inhalers in my hand luggage, they are in a clear re-sealable bag, I don't have the original box or prescription. Should this cause any issues? Has anyone else had any issues getting inhalers through Airport security?
  • Will I be able to bring nicotine gum through security at the airport? I'm 17 and I constantly am having nicotine. I going on a trip to Seattle and i was wondering if i can get through security with nicotine gum. I'm traveling with my sister in law and i don't want her to know i use nicotine. I'm planning on just putting the nicotine gum into a normal gum container so it doesn't look suspicious. Will tsa question this or will i get in trouble with it?
  • Bringing a CPAP machine through security at Frankfurt Airport? My wife and I are going to Germany later this year. She has to use a CPAP machine. We've never had any trouble flying domestically with it here in the US Is there anything special to do with it when going through security in Frankfurt for our flight back to the US or should it be as easy as it is here in the States? We're on Delta Airlines, if that matters at all.
