Will flight prices go down?
So I'm trying to get a flight ticket and I called the airline today to purchase them through the phone and I asked the guy if the tickets would go lower later and he said that it's very unlikely for them to go cheaper that on the contrary they might go up. And I was stupid and didn't buy them cause I have faith they will go lower. But I just checked and they are like $80 more. What do I do? Should I wait for them to go lower or just buy them now? I read that Thursday's are the worst day to buy them cause it's when airline raise their prices the most. Also the site says that tickets are expected to go higher. My trip is for the 25th of July btw. It's soon
Tickets don't get cheaper. Ever.
You should just monitor what the website says. Obviously that's what the prices will be.
Some flights may go sown in price (seasonal factors), but for the most part, I think the flights will remain the same or go up.
Prices rarely go down. They go up as the cheaper seats on a flight sell out leaving only more expensive seats. You should not wait to buy tickets.
So the guy on the phone said that it is likely the prices will rise, the prices did rise. A website says that it is likely they will increase more. Yet you still wondering if you should wait to purchase your ticket for a flight that is now less than a week away?
What can we say that hasn't been crystal clear up until now that shows you should buy your ticket?
So buy the ticket or don't after all is said and done you will pay the price you pay, it is just a matter of how much you will end up paying vs. What you could have paid.
Buy now. You are booking way late for a trip that is next week. Tickets will definitely not get any cheaper.
For several years, lastminute flight bookings are mostly very, very expensive.
Hurry up and buy now. Compare prices from different airlines (with a reliable web site) or finding a one-stop that might be cheaper than your direct flight are the only way you may still save some money now.
More tips
This close to your travel date, they are 100% guaranteed to increase in price, only when airlines have lots of unsold seats that they have a sale, otherwise they will sell as the seat classes are sold out the prices increase.
There's no price guarantee. YOU GAMBLE the answer is MAYBE.
Price may go up or down a few days or weeks later. All depends on how many left over seats are still for sale.
The 'seat sales" are usually just for a few flights and a few destinations. They sell fast and you can be added to fare alert things on your search place/airline of choice.
SERIOUSLY you expect the peak travel time high demand time to get a discount price?
It might the day before if leftover seats. It can also sell out. Weather happens storms happen a flight disruption the day before can fill any leftover seats in seconds.
You gambled and waited. The price went up. CLEAR YOUR COOKIES and look again.
It may go up more it may come down. Only you know how important this particular flight is to you.
Look for alternate possibilities from A to B the big search sites look for the FASTEST connections not every possible way from A to B. Waiting an extra hour or two or taking a longer route may save $$ but you pay in time. How much is your time waiting worth to you?
That is in a few days. Its just going to go up
