The only year-round commercial flights to Greenland are from Reykjavik and Copenhagen.

There's a summer-only charter service from Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada; although from the southern USA it would be more expensive and take longer than flying via Reykjavik

As far as I know, going over Iceland or Denmark are the only options when travelling as a tourist.

There are flights from the US to the Thule Airbase, but these are restricted to military personally, officials, locals, workers on the base etc.

Air Nunavut flies scheduled service from Ottawa and Montreal to Iqaluit, NU, Canada. From Iqaluit it has charter flights to Nuuk in Greenland.

You don't without going thru Iceland. Where you live does not matter.

If you really want to go there you can.
If you want to place pretend barriers from where the planes can come from that is your choice.
Greenland Airports have service to many places.

Air Nunavut connects you from Canada seasonally. You contact the Airline and reserve a plane.it is cheaper if you have others with you to fill all the seats.

Many ways to get from Southern USA to Canada.
Look for flights to Montreal or Ottawa (YUL.YOW) Then take a flight to Air Nunavut hub for your chartered flight.

It is much easier and a lot cheaper to take a flight to Reykjavik and change planes.

How many flights and Airlines do you expect for an Island that has a population of about 60.000?
