What language do flight attendants usually speak on worldwide flights?
Like if you work for an airline and fly from Germany to England or vice versa would you have to speak English or German?
English is considered the standard language of airlines. However they speak the language of the country they are flying to and from.
They speak the language of yodas butthole
Announcements on the plane are made in both the language of departure and language of the landing country. And sometimes in English as well. Different flight attendants may make the announcements- so a flight to Germany has to have at least one flight attendant who speaks German, but they don't all have to.
Usually you would have to know the language of your airline's country. But English is always used if anyone doesn't speak the native language of another.
On every international flight that I have been on, the flight attendants all could speak English. On most airlines, they also speak the native language of the country the airline is from (the big exception would probably be the major Gulf carriers that hire a lot of non-native crew) and there's at least one on board that can speak the languages of the countries the flight is going between.
Even when flying between two non-English speaking countries, the announcements have all been in English plus the languages of the origin and destination of the flight.
Flight Attendants speak English and their Native Language.
IF you fly on a German Airline they will speak English and German and some may also speak many other languages.
You will find people living in Europe can speak at least two languages.
Their own language and English.
Whatever languages they know. [and if English isn't among those, they probably would not get the job]
Depends on the policy of the individual airline, and on where that airline is based. But it is almost certain that English would be required as one of the languages spoken by most cabin staff.
On one Emirates flight that I was on a few years ago, from Bangkok to Dubai, they announced that among the crew on that particular flight there were people who spoke English, Arabic, French, Thai, Mandarin, German and Spanish.
- What are the least demanding international airlines when hiring flight attendants (female)? I'm somewhat short (1,55m or 5'1ft) and have 6 tattoos (although only one is visible, a small one below my neck in my back but usually the scarf we flight attendants use hide it) so I'd like to know which airlines worldwide care less about those "shortcomings" when planning to hire a female flight attendant.
- Will autonomous cars hurt the airline industry for domestic flights in the worldwide and USA? And will it also hurt the bus industry or train industry or ship or taxi industry. Will gas stations disappear due to electric cars will it hurt airlines like southwest untied delta or any low cost airlines regional airlines Will hyperloop happen
- Do you prefer night flights or day flights? I prefer night flights. The view of all the city lights and cars passing by below is so relaxing and I love the way airports are all lit up at night.
- Which airline companies pay their future flight attendants during their training, and which airline companies are unionized? I also wanted to know which airline companies pay their future flight attendants during their training time, as well as which ones pay for their housing whether it be at a hotel somewhere or not. And which airline companies pay their flight attendants the best and treat their employees the best?
