Boyfriend neglected dog all weekend, should I rehome her?
We went away for the weekend for a wedding, left early Saturday morning, I'm usually the one to ask my sisters to look after the dog, and this weekend my boyfriend said he would take care of it. Well, as we're getting ready to head home for the airport I ask, so did your sister get into the house okay? This is when I realize he never verified with his sister to make sure our dog was fed and let out of the house. I'm guessing that he asked her earlier in the week to stop by and then thought she would just automatically know what to do. So our dog has been sitting at home all weekend, hungry and alone and he doesn't seem that upset about it. I asked him yesterday if he is sure it is all taken care of and he had an attitude and was like, "yes! It's taken care of!" Needless to say I'm LIVID. This is the dog he told me he wanted to adopt and begged to get and yet I'm the one to walk it, make sure it gets fed, and ensure that we budget money to take her to the vet. I told him that we're going to rehome her and that I can't see myself continuing a relationship with someone so careless about a creature that depends on him for food and care. It makes me sick that we were both drinking it up and partying all night and he couldn't even bother to check with his sister to make sure our dog was taken care of. I'm at a loss, we live together and I have been hinting that we should probably find the dog a home for a few weeks since he can't even be bothered to play with her or walk her.
Yes, and re-home yourself while you're at it. Maybe you and the dog can both go the same new home. I wouldn't want to be associated with someone as irresponsible and thoughtless as your boyfriend seems to be.
Sorry I don't believe you. If you really had a pet and a boyfriend you'd be smart enough to dump him and keep the dog rather than show rotten judgement and keep him and re-home her when your imaginary "boyfriend" neglected your imaginary dog and you admitted as much as he "neglected her" in your initial question.
Do you homework or clean your room instead of advertising how Really NEGLECTFUL your "parents' are by leaving your spoiled tail to your own devices!
If the two of you Really even have a dog, yes re-home it, since neither of you are mature enough to deserve one.
You need a new boyfriend.
And you will be arrested. The dog is not yours so you can't do anything with it. The dog doesn't dog to you so the dog will have to be returned to the Boyfriend and the person who received the stolen dog will be arrested alone with you
Get a new Boyfriend and leave his dog alone
Nope you should perhaps poke him in the eye with a pointy stick instead though And then rehome the dog to someone a little more mature and capable than you are of looking after it. Little troll… Eh
Rehome the dog. AND neither one of you should EVER get a dog again. Your both to irresponsible.
Probably… Or break up with him. I would be seriously disgusted too. It seems incredibly sociopathic… How is going to treat you in a year?
Yes but make shore where she/he goes is good
If this actually happened then you are both irresponsible and I suggest you get the dog either taken back to the breeder / rescue / shelter or rehomed.
You do not have the lifestyle or the responsibility for a dog. Even if it was his idea to get the dog but has left a lot of the work with you, you should have made sure of the arrangements for the weekend yourself.
- Help get my dog to me? I just move to California from Virginia. I left my staffordshire terrier with my grandparents, she just turned 1 & I don't know how to get her here because most airlines don't accept her breed someone please help me… She's my world.
- Will American Airlines allow an injured emotional support dog? My dog is flying on the plane with me tomorrow as an emotional support dog but she just broke her foot. Vet says she's good to go with her cast but will the airline allow it?
- S it harmful to pass your dog under airport x-ray machine? I'm going in a vacation with my dog, in my country they put live animals under x ray machines like baggages! I was wondering how harmful is that for my dog.
