Checks for trip to Vegas?
I'm a Brit and went to LA last yr and really enjoyed, but soon have my trip to Vegas I just want to triple check in case I have missed something for my trip that I need by law to be there etc. OK so I have passport, travel insurance, ESTA check (visa Waiver Program which I purchased for Last July and understand lasts two years so don't need a visa so think I don't need to do anything more with this although will take paper copy of it), currency, hotel and plane bookings, luggage, trips to and from airports, activities sorted, phone and new sim for USA to use also for navigation if need.
I have everything printed and ready, please could someone confirm I have everything and there isn't something I'm forgetting (just wanna be sure I have everything in order)
Drive to Vegas
You seem way over-planned for a trip to Vegas.
Enjoy some spur of the moment activities.
Your bail bondsman's phone number.
The thing about Vegas is, if you forget something you can do it there, for example toe airport if right by the strip and there are a lot of shuttles to the hotels, so if you don't have that made, you do it right there are the airport. You don't need a VISA, there are plenty of people who will set up day trips if you see one you want. The hotels all have your reservation on file so a lot of paperwork isn't needed-you can write down the res # somewhere if you wish. A US phone SIM is prudent. Navigation is not much of a problem there, depending. So I think you have all you need.
It sounds like you are well prepared.
However, check the weather for Las Vegas and make any packing changes you might need. For example, the high temperatures for the next two weeks tend to be around 15 C and the lows around 5 C. It isn't really cold, but you need more than t-shirts and shorts for clothing.
You'll also want to make sure your credit cards are of the kind that work in the US.
If you plan to gamble a lot, be advised that there are daily limits on how much money can be withdrawn via banking machines (typically around $500 USD/day). Assuming you aren't familiar with casino gambling and plan to gamble, I suggest some advance reading on how to play the games to increase your chances of winning (or at least reducing your losses). Such books/articles are common and should be easy to find.
While not specifically related to traveling to Las Vegas - ONCE THERE, have plenty of water on hand, or know where there's some. It is in a desert and a lot of people run into heat and/or hydration problems. You will also likely do a lot of walking. Some of the casinos have ~5,000 rooms, so they are basically small towns unto themselves. Even if you never leave that complex, it can still require a lot of walking.
It's one of my favorite places to visit, even for a non-gambler; but it's not without it's downsides. Be warned that pick-pockets are common, especially at night for the street shows. Plan accordingly.
- Booking trip with two different airlines vs same airline? Any differences? One over the other? I'm deciding on which flight i should take to Honolulu. The cheaper flights seem to have two different airlines. For example, flight to LA on American airlines, then from LA to Honolulu with Alaska. Compared to sticking with one airline. Any bad experiences with having two separate airlines? Is it safer to stay with one airline as in luggage safety?
- How was your trip to Scotland? Me and my girlfriend are considering taking a trip to Scotland in March. We re just looking for some opinions/tips from people that have gone before. Obviously we want to do it as cost effectively as possible. What airline did you fly? Where did you stay? Did you do a lot of sightseeing? Is it possible to take a train to nearby cities/countries rather quickly and cheaply? How s the food? Was the trip expensive? Any help is appreciated! This will be our first trip to Europe.
- Will people stop flying southwest airlines from vegas to lax or lax to sfo due to engine failure? Will southwest airlines go bankrupt because people say first united drags people off of planes now southwest airlines is killing people because a woman died on southwest flight I don't think it is the airlines fault the pilots did great they were navy air force pilots Is southwest airlines not good and safe anymore due to engine failure and a passenger who died Is this is like a fatal crash that hasn't happened in awhile
- What is the cheapest way to get to DFW Airport for a 1-month trip? I'm going to England for about a month around Christmas, and I live in OKC. I find a wildly cheaper flight on Iceland Air, but the catch is that I'd somehow have to hoof it to DFW airport, but it'd save a couple thousand (I have multiple passengers). What would be the cheapest way to get there and back? And getting driven by a friend is not an option, as the few people I know who might be able to drive 4 hours on a workday are unfortunately occupied.
