Do airport scanners detect silicone?

Added (1). Ok, I'm probably just being really paranoid.
I have some pretty bad scars that I need to get rid of as much (and as soon) as possible. I'm planning on buying some of those ScarAway silicone strips, but I'm going away for a week and will probably need to take them with me. I can't let anyone travelling with me know I have them, because no one knows about the scars.
Will the airport security detector thing find them and have someone have search my bag? Should I put them on my body or in my bag?

No they don't.

Put them in your bag. They will show up on the x-ray but shouldn't appear suspicious. If they do check your bag, there won't be any reason for someone else to see what's in there.

You can't carry them in a pocket through security - they will definitely be identified and pulled out that way.

I had hand surgery a month ago, in an area that is impacted in my career as a professional flutist. I too am wearing these, 8-12 hours daily. But they take WEEKS to work on new scars - and double that - sometimes months - on old scars. My surgical incision is next to a 20year old scare from a kitchen knife accident. The NEW scar is showing teeny steps of progress. The older one - nada (although it is much smaller.) Good luck - and with the issues that caused these scars. But they are long-term - not a miracle.

I'm assuming you are traveing from or within the US

If you apply this on your body, there's a good chance that the body scanner will pick it up. In such a case, you will simply get a pat-down around the area where where it alarmed.

It is recommended that you keep these items in your baggage (checked or carry-on, it is your choice.) If you decide to keep it in carry-on and the bag is flagged for an inspection, it will be due to something else. If you are uncomfortable with the inspection being conducted in a public setting, ask for a private screening. (Done out of public view.)

Ok, I'm probably just being really paranoid. Probably

Security can inspect your carry on. While they? Usually not. It can be done discreetly to avoid embarrassment if it is necessary.

Your scars will not magically become invisible in a few weeks. Just they way it is. They do become much less noticeable in a month.

Good luck. This is not an Airplane security issue. It is just your issue to deal with when showing off your midsection.
