Why don't airlines have larger sized seats for plus sized people?
They could probably charge a little more for them, instead of making the flying experience a nightmare for some people.
They do, economy plus, business, business plus and of course for the ginormous people first class.
That would mean fewer seats on the plane. Which would mean fewer paying customers on a flight.
It would be very useful and more comfortable for them, but at the same time many overweight people would take offence. It would be another form of what they'd refer to as "being singled out". Like a child finally getting their own way only to in the end be like "NO! I don't want it!".
Because being 'plus-sized' is unhealthy. As a people, we should not encourage unhealthy behavior. Smokers, overweight people, addicts… All are drains on our health care systems. Their problems take research and money from issues that affect children and others who don't walk around trying to kill themselves.
They DO! They're called "First Class" and they cost at least twice what the cheap seats cost. Of course, you get free drinks and a meal with those seats too.
Because fat people would weigh down the plane thus making it crash
Even if an airline had larger seats for plus-size passengers and charged a plus-size passenger extra to sit in it, some other passenger would STILL end up sitting next to the plus-size passenger who is sitting in the larger seat.
They usually have business and first class seats available.
They charge more than a 'little more' however.
The point is that seats have a standardized width. If there's a wider seat somewhere, it takes room away from another seat.
So either the plane interior furnishing has one wider seat at every row and the airplane fuselage is wider as a consequence (and that depends on Mr. Boeing and Airbus to have it designed that way) or they don't have it and here is not the right place to complain about it.
You can get charged for two seats if you are too big to fit in one.
- Why don't airports use steam catapults and transverse arrestor cables, like they do on aircraft carriers, for extra short take-off & landing? 1. Airports could be pretty tiny with runways no longer than a football field 2. Takeoff and landing (takeoff especially) would be *much* more exciting 3. Airlines could charge people more money because the experience would be much more fun 4. It would save a lot of fuel with much less taxiing around the airfield, and much less fuel used during the takeoff phase
- I'm taking my first flight ever and it's with Alaska airlines. I don't have a suitcase, so I'm bringing a large duffel bag. Is this okay? I would rather not be charged extra! The bag is a little longer than a normal suitcase but a lot thinner
- People who have traveled with Norwegian airlines: do they weigh you personal item? On all the flights I've been on no one has ever weighed personal items i.e. Hangbag, backpack, etc. I thought the weight limit for he carry-on with a lowfare ticket was 10kg but apparently thats a combined weight with you handbag. Do they actually weigh both? Also my bag is 2cm over the size limit do you think theyll notice? your*
- Can I bring a full sized pillow on America airlines? I have a small suitcase, and tiny blue backpack. And a full sized pillow. Would I be able to bring all that on a flight? I'm pre boarding as well, because of a disability.
