What is the deal with airline food?
Can't tell what you want to know. Do you want to know if they serve food on planes? Yes. Do you want to know if you have to order ahead? Sometimes. Do you want to know if you have to pay for the food? Sometimes. Do you want to know when it's prepared? Before the flight. Do you want to know something else? I'm out of guesses as to what you might want to know about airline food.
It is often made as cheaply as possible, but made to a standard that satisfies customer demands. More and more airlines are charging for food, as away of reducing costs, generally in the economy section. Most airlines require prebooking of special dietary requirements, such as vegan, no dairy, etc.
Well, it's there to absorb the alcohol
Well they say because the air is drier and altitude/pressurization, our taste buds are weaker and the food does not taste as good. However some airlines compensate for that by adding more salt and sugar. I have flown a number of airlines where the food actually tasted really good. Those were Asian airlines and the food as well as service were top notch.
As you won't tell us what you think it is, how should I know? It's food, and airlines serve it. Therefore it is airline food. That is the deal.
- Which airline companies pay their future flight attendants during their training, and which airline companies are unionized? I also wanted to know which airline companies pay their future flight attendants during their training time, as well as which ones pay for their housing whether it be at a hotel somewhere or not. And which airline companies pay their flight attendants the best and treat their employees the best?
- Does British Airways Food Choices? Does British Airways offer you a choice of food for their standard meals while you are on the plane? Not the diet specific or up charged meals. This would be for a long haul international flight.
- Can I become an airline pilot for a major airline if I go to college for a computer science degree (Bachelors Degree)? And also why is their so much debt in order to be a airline pilot? Is it because of people choosing the "go to college for aviation" sort of route?
- What airline am I flying with? Carrier is Air France but operating airline is Virgin Atlantic? I'm due to fly to Miami in September and I booked a flight with kiwi.com. The flight is with Air France however in the details it states that the operating airline for the flight is Virgin Atlantic. Does this mean I will be flying on a Virgin Atlantic aircraft or a Air France one?
