Can I pass homemade, cooked hamburger sandwiches thru safety checks at the airport?

The latest changes in TSA rules left us wondering. We usually bring our own lunches from home, or buy outside the airport. Is that still OK?

It depends on the airport, check their website and they will tell you what you can and can't bring on. I wouldn't think they would let you take it inside to be honest anymore

My wife, child and I went through TSA and everything last month and they allowed all the food and drinks we had. We had an omelette, hash browns, eggs, fruit snacks, baby chips, small bottles of apple juice, and other small snacks for our child. They scanned them in some weird machine and heavily inspected them but we were allowed to keep them. I'm not sure if they have changed things in the last couple weeks though. You can always go beforehand to the airport and talk to them about what you can and can't bring if you are worried.

The only restrictions I've seen have been on liquids and gels.

Yes you can bring home made food. Avoid stuff like sauces, stews, puddings, soups. It does count as liquid.

TSA's rules are on their website (it clearly says that sandwiches are OK).
Unless your burger is a liquid or gel, you should be fine.
