Can I pass homemade, cooked hamburger sandwiches thru safety checks at the airport?
The latest changes in TSA rules left us wondering. We usually bring our own lunches from home, or buy outside the airport. Is that still OK?
It depends on the airport, check their website and they will tell you what you can and can't bring on. I wouldn't think they would let you take it inside to be honest anymore
My wife, child and I went through TSA and everything last month and they allowed all the food and drinks we had. We had an omelette, hash browns, eggs, fruit snacks, baby chips, small bottles of apple juice, and other small snacks for our child. They scanned them in some weird machine and heavily inspected them but we were allowed to keep them. I'm not sure if they have changed things in the last couple weeks though. You can always go beforehand to the airport and talk to them about what you can and can't bring if you are worried.
The only restrictions I've seen have been on liquids and gels.
Yes you can bring home made food. Avoid stuff like sauces, stews, puddings, soups. It does count as liquid.
TSA's rules are on their website (it clearly says that sandwiches are OK).
Unless your burger is a liquid or gel, you should be fine.
- Can I pass through Airport Security with Cooked lunch in my Carry-on/Personal during travels to the USA? I plan on making a trip to the USA for the summer, However, one of my flights has a long stop where I will be waiting for more than 10 hours until the next plane departs. As you can imagine that's a lot of waiting, and I don't want to buy the expensive food available at the airport. So is it okay to prepare a cooked meal and bring along with me? Example: Baked Chicken and Rice with steamed vegetables.
- Do you know why some stores at airport ask for boarding pass? Do you know why some stores at airport ask for boarding pass when buying stuff even chocolates, candies or foods? That happened to me when I was in Amsterdam airport.
- S it harmful to pass your dog under airport x-ray machine? I'm going in a vacation with my dog, in my country they put live animals under x ray machines like baggages! I was wondering how harmful is that for my dog.
- Do airlines have to show a safety demonstration before a flight? My Qatar Airways flight was delayed 1 hour 30 minutes from Heathrow because a detained man being deported was put onto the flight. I was 2 seats to the left of him and his security at the rear of the plane. Once he was on and secure we starting taxying. We didn't get a safety demonstration by the crew and neither was a video shown on the screens. Was this legal?
